Kodiak on a visit to the Odyssium in Edmonton, AB.

To thank the community for supporting the project and to further public interest in technology and robotics, the ARVP has included in its mandate a program of community service. Currently, the ARVP Outreach team conducts a number of speaking and hands-on activities each year for groups of up to forty students from grades kindergarten through twelve. Students are always thrilled when Bear Cub or Kodiak drops by their school for a visit. The Outreach team has also spoken to University of Alberta alumni and has been visible at many community events around Edmonton.

In November of 2006, the ARVP hosted a trilobot building event, where 30 lucky student from around Edmonton came to the University of Alberta to build their own ARVP-designed autonomous robot. Find out all about it here

If you have an idea for an outreach event, we'd like to hear from you.
