From ARVP
The Operator Control Unit (OCU) project is responsible for upgrading and enhancing the current OCU, created by a 400 level EE Capstone design project. Internal connectors are to be refitted, new case designed and built, and adapted for new design specifications of Bearacuda.

Hey guys, would someone mind taking some measurements of the OCU components for me? Top priority would be the dimensions of any item that would protrude out of OCU face plate (such as LCD screen width x height, button/switch diameters, joystick mounting holes, etc...)
Also, someone can go ahead and order the case (P/N 6049A52) from McMaster Carr (www.mcmaster.com). It's $47.67 and has inside dimensions of 9.375" x 7.25" x 4.0625" and is dust and water-proof (when closed).
I can finish the face plate design if someone can get me the dimensions (I'll also need to know exact case dimensions when it arrives as well). Then you can take that drawing down to the MecE machine shop and they can crank it out. Note: Ask Roger (the MecE shop boss) about using the water cutter in the EE machine shop to cut the plate.

Labeled and disconnected the wires in the OCU this morning. Still going through the schematics to figure out where the remaining wires need to be connected, but once that is done I can start to change the connections and shrink wrap the wires together to make the inside more user friendly.

Notes:
OCU notes can be found on the lab computer in the EE folder on the desktop.
The new OCU enclosure has been ordered and will hopefully arrive in a week or so. --MattBourassa 11:52, 4 March 2008 (MST)
